File Manager Privacy Policy
File Manager is a local file manager app. It helps users browse, search, preview, organize, archive, extract, clean, and recover files stored on their own device.
Data We Process On Your Device
To provide file management features, File Manager may read local file metadata and related local records on your device, including:
- File names, paths, sizes, modified times, and file types.
- Basic preview information for images, audio, video, documents, and archive files.
- Favorite file paths saved by the user.
- Recently opened file records.
- Recycle bin records and file operation history.
- Cleanup candidates such as large files, old downloads, empty folders, APK files, and duplicate candidates.
Local File Content
All file management features run on your device. File Manager does not upload user files in any feature.
Storage Permissions
File Manager requests storage-related permissions so it can browse local folders, search local files, copy or move files, create and extract ZIP files, recover files from the recycle bin, and show cleanup candidates.
On Android 8, Android 9, and Android 10, the app uses system storage permissions. On Android 11 and later, the app uses the All files access permission for its core file manager functionality.
Ads, Analytics, and Crash Diagnostics
The current version does not include AdMob ads. The app includes Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand basic app usage and diagnose crashes. Diagnostic data collection is turned off by default. Users can turn it on in the app under Mine / Settings / Diagnostic data.
If the user turns on diagnostic data, Firebase may process the following information:
- Basic Firebase Analytics usage events and app/device version information.
- Firebase Crashlytics crash logs, device model, operating system version, app version, and crash time.
Diagnostic data does not include the content of the user's local files.
Data Retention And Deletion
Favorites, recently opened records, recycle bin records, and operation history are stored locally on the device. Users can remove related records inside the app where supported, or uninstall the app to delete local app data.
Third-Party Services
When diagnostic data is enabled by the user, Firebase services may process diagnostic information as described above. Firebase is provided by Google LLC.
